For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to creating. Whether working with traditional media, digital tools, video, photography, or emerging technologies, I enjoy exploring new ways to bring ideas to life. Each medium offers its own unique challenges and possibilities, and that spirit of experimentation continues to inspire my work today.
My primary artistic focus, however, is scratchboard. Unlike traditional drawing, where artists add marks to a blank surface, scratchboard begins with a board coated in black ink over a layer of white clay. Using sharp tools, the artist carefully scratches away the black surface to reveal the white beneath. The process is often compared to drawing with light rather than shadow.
What attracts me most to scratchboard is its combination of precision and contrast. Every mark is deliberate, and even the smallest scratches contribute to the final image. The medium excels at capturing intricate textures, dramatic lighting, and fine detail, making it particularly well suited for wildlife, portraiture, fantasy subjects, and emotionally expressive imagery. There is something deeply satisfying about watching an image emerge from darkness one line at a time.
My work is driven by curiosity, storytelling, and a fascination with the details that often go unnoticed. Whether creating original scratchboards, exploring new artistic techniques, or combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, I strive to create pieces that invite viewers to pause, look closer, and discover something new.
If a particular piece speaks to you, or if you have an idea you’d like to bring to life, I welcome inquiries about original artwork, prints, and commission projects.
